I am Yokoi, an Adan staff member.
This time, I only have one day out of the month when I am concentrated and nervous for 4-5 hours to be precise.
No matter how hard I try to relax for those 4-5 hours, I alone cannot relax because of the tension and concentration of those around me.
This tension and concentration is also a pleasant pleasure when it is over.
That is the day to attend drawing lessons.
The teacher is a Japanese-style painter who teaches Japanese-style painting and sketching at Geidai, Ueno Royal Museum, Kyoto University of Art, and Ochanomizu Preparatory School, etc. How did I come to study with this amazing teacher?
The answer is quite simple: an acquaintance said to me, "This teacher is opening his studio to the public and will give us lessons. (This teacher is opening his studio to the public and giving lessons.
I didn't respond for a while, but a couple of invitations from acquaintances made me say "O,K".
My acquaintance had already participated in this group and was also studying oil painting in another group by himself.
This is a group of people with an interest in art, including illustrators, magazine publishers, children's storytellers, and those who are studying at art schools.
We take a five-minute break every 20 minutes or so, but during this break, when the model is relaxing, we are still making corrections, so the sketching process goes on for a very long time.
I have recently come to believe that focus and tension is not a bad thing if it is once a month.
I am learning more and more about how I see things and how people move. I will show you some of the drawings I have made in the last couple of months, but if you want to laugh, laugh a lot, or say "ah~", say "ah~" and close the page.
When I can draw better and better, I will show you with confidence.
In these two drawings, I drew the upper body, but the way the photo was taken resulted in only the face.
These sunflowers are out of season.
The petals are also missing teeth, but I borrowed a watercolor from my teacher and quickly added color.
I have to observe the subject of the person, still life, or object very carefully and bring out its characteristics.
I felt that it was not an easy task.
It is at this time that concentration and tension are created.
This two words, concentration and tension, are also necessary when serving customers.
Anyway, I will do my best and study drawing now.
