Exhibition Report] "Snoopy Fantalation," a Collaboration of Snoopy and Science

This is Kubota from Adan Staff.

It's a beautiful day to go out and enjoy the poka poka~*.

Invited by the sunny weather, I went to an exhibition called Snoopy Fantasy held in Ginza!

I don't usually go to see character exhibits, but when I found out that there was a collaboration with a goldsmith, I decided to pay a visit.

There are Snoopy robots, video works, etc., as part of the "Snoopy x Science Art Exhibition,

This is an exhibition of "karakuri objects," the most analog of them all.

The handmade feeling is very relaxing.

There were about three of them on display, and one of them was actually moving and demonstrated!

And here are the works of goldsmiths.

I never thought I would see Snoopy made of forged metal!

The forging technique, in which a flat plate is beaten with a hammer to form a shape, is so soft in spite of its metal form that I couldn't help but want to touch it.

The forging technique is also used for Adan's select order wedding rings.

Platinum and gold plates are beaten and molded many times to create a durable finish.

Since wedding rings are worn every day, the series is popular for its simple yet sturdy construction.

Now, back to the "Snoopy x Science Art Exhibition," there are also hands-on exhibits in the exhibition hall.

The projector projects your shadow onto the screen on which the characters are projected, and the image changes,

Illustrations drawn by visitors on paper will move as if they are dancing, and so on.

I visited on a weekday, so the exhibition was relatively empty, but I was able to enjoy the hands-on exhibits at a leisurely pace.

The merchandise corner outside the venue was so well-stocked that even I, who was not a particular fan of the event, was tempted to buy some treats for myself (^^).

The exhibition will be held in Tokyo until Monday, March 19, after which it will tour to Osaka, Hiroshima, and Nagoya.

It was a fun exhibition that you can enjoy on your way out, so why not stop by if you are in Ginza?
