Sea, river, mountain, beer and shochu,,
Summer is a very busy time!
This is Masada of Adan staff who can't stop fidgeting.
This time, instead of leisure, we are talking about a chic museum.
I visited the "Giacometti Exhibition" at the National Art Center, Tokyo!
Alberto Giacometti was a sculptor who worked in France,
When I was a student, he was an author who was often talked about.
After all, it is so thin.
The form is supposed to be stripped of various details, but the texture feels somewhat rustling.
Rather than looking at the work itself, it is the deliberate use of the space around it that is characteristic of Giacometti's work.
I believe that this thinness was arrived at as a result of repeated exploration of the distance between the model and the creator.
I feel as if I have been taught that no matter what kind of work is done, beautiful things are born through the repetition of adding and removing, adding and discarding.
This is the famous walking man.
While the sculptures were impressive, I was more fascinated by the drawings.
Each line seems to be alive and somewhat mechanical.
It is as if the photographer is trying to capture the presence and atmosphere of the model, rather than just capturing the model.
Slightly off topic, but Geoffrey Rush plays the main character in a movie called "Shine," about a real-life pianist that I watched at home the other day.
The scene where he plays the piano while smoking looks just like Giacometti, who paints while smoking!
What a thought,
The film "Final Portrait" about Giacometti, scheduled for release next January, stars Geoffrey Rush in the lead role, no matter what!
Excitement!
I'm looking forward to the movie.
