I went to Karuizawa in a snowy landscape♪

This is Kubota from Adan Staff.

We recently took a day off for our wedding anniversary and went to Karuizawa (^^)

The inn was located in a villa area a short walk from the station, so when I woke up in the morning, I had this view!

Karuizawa Breakfast

Breakfast is usually a hurried affair, but for the first time in a long time, it was served leisurely.

coffee

The trees reflected in the coffee are also very relaxing.

The weather was fine, so we went to Harunire Terrace in the afternoon.

Harunire Terrace in winter

Of course, it is a snowy scene here, too.

Lovely!

Living in Tokyo, I don't often see snowy scenery, so even if it's cold, it lifts my spirits (^^).

I was somewhat concerned because some of the stores in front of the station were quite closed during the off-season in winter,

Harunire Terrace was a relief to find many stores safely empty.

il sogno Karuizawa

We had lunch at an Italian restaurant called il sogno.

The name of the restaurant, il sogno, is Italian for "dream.

Inside the restaurant, there are sofa seats with many cushions softly placed on them,

A limited-time "fireplace café" was attached to the building, a café where you could easily fall asleep.

The restaurant's dishes are prepared with a wide variety of local ingredients.

I was so lost in the deliciousness of all the dishes that I had the "Shinshu handmade pasta with local flour".

il sogno lunch

This carbonara is filled with bacon, which is said to be made using authentic German methods.

The sticky pasta was very tasty!

And the best part of the trip is the "local beer"!

We had a beer that is an original to this restaurant!

There are two kinds of ales available, Weizen and Pale Ale, and here I would not hesitate to choose Pale Ale.

Pale ale is a top-fermented beer with a long history that was also made in monasteries,

Whenever I find one, I order it anyway.

It is a slightly reddish beer with a smooth taste, a strong wheat flavor, and is delicious.

Huh, why are holiday lunches so wonderful?

It was very cold, but I personally recommend Karuizawa in winter because of the beautiful scenery and lack of crowds!
