Tanzawa One-Day Climbing - Aiming for Nabeyaki Udon Noodles at the Summit - First Half

Hello, I am Nakai, an Adan staff member.

Today is a beautiful and refreshing autumn day.
It is getting colder in the mornings and at night, and warm food tastes delicious these days.

Then, last Monday, I heard about "delicious nabeyaki udon noodles at the top of the mountain,
I would like to tell you about a one-day trip to Tanzawa, which was finally realized while consulting with the weather.

9/26 The Silver Week is over in the world,
Mondays are filled with people dragging heavy bodies to work.

I got up at 5:00 a.m. and took the 6:00 a.m. train to Shibusawa Station on the Odakyu Line.

I used the Tanzawa-Oyama Free Pass, a very reasonable ticket.
Unlimited round-trip train + bus rides.1,450 Yen (from Gotokuji)

*From Shinjuku: ¥1,530

I took a one-day trip, but the ticket itself is valid for two days.
If you make full use of the ticket, you will feel that it is very economical.

The place where you can eat Nabewari Udon noodles is Nabewariyama.
The route is as follows,
From Shibusawa station, take the bus to Okura.
From there, we will go to Mt.

After that, we will gently walk along the ridge to Nabewariyama,
Nabewariyama and back to Okura via Futamata.

Since there are many photos, we will divide the route into the first half and the second half.
In the first half, I will describe the route up to the arrival at Mt.

The first half of the climb is uphill through a cedar forest, and the moderate incline makes for a nice, easy and crisp climb.

There are benches and rest zones along the way, perfect for forest bathing.

Suddenly it was foggy, even though it was clear below.

It seems inevitable at this time of year...too bad it got dark.

SONY DSC

The second half of the climb is more stairs and rocks as far as the eye can see.
I found myself exhausted, and it was the hardest part.

If you ask me, Okura Ridge is commonly known as Baka Ridge.
It was a bit of a hard course, climbing 1,200 meters in elevation in only 7 kilometers.

We did see deer along the way, which was a bit of a treat,
Legs are plump.

In the midst of all this, there was a fantastic view, so I took a quick shot.
The contrast between the pine trees and the fog is wonderful.

SONY DSC

That's how we reached the summit!
Once you get there, it's all yours. It's an easy road from then on.

SONY DSC

Take a dusty coffee break and walk around the area.

Then I saw a sign that said 300m from the watering hole: ・・・・

Does this go to ・・・・・・・・? (Is that the only way?)

I had a bad feeling about it, but decided to head there.

SONY DSC

A premonition was right on target, 300m of continuous descent in a storm of stairs.

When we finally arrived at the water station, it was a crappy plastic pipe at the far end.

We came all the way here, so we desperately needed water supply.

SONY DSC

What goes down must come up.

SONY DSC

After climbing up an eternal flight of stairs for 300 meters, we once again reached the summit.

Now that we are feeling a little hungry, let's head for the nabeyaki udon we are looking for!
