I am Fujimori, the manager.
I returned safely from a business trip to Bangkok, Thailand!
We were able to enjoy another fruitful year of purchasing in Bangkok, where the political unrest that had been so loudly reported was so completely peaceful that it was difficult to even notice it.

I wish I could have reported from the site, but my internet connection and time schedule did not work out, so I will report after my return.
First, an overview of the Gem Fair and a report on the first day.
A biannual jewelry show held in Bangkok, Thailand, "Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fairis the 47th edition of this historic trade fair, and is one of the world's largest jewelry fairs with more than 1,000 exhibitors.
Bangkok, Thailand is the world's largest concentration of colored gemstones, especially the so-called three major precious stones such as rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, and the Bangkok Gem Show is the largest exhibition of colored gemstones, especially the three major precious stones, in the world.
↑The entrance area was crowded with people on the first day of the event.
The IMPACT fairgrounds, located in the suburbs of Bangkok, are as huge as the Big Sight.
There were nearly 300 booths selling and trading loose stones alone, so it would be difficult just to visit all the booths without having a business meeting.
↑upAs far as the eye can see, there are booths to be exhibited...
On the first day, we will concentrate on preliminary inspection to narrow down the business partners to a certain extent, asking only a few casual questions about prices and then moving on, gradually gaining a grasp of the market.
Comparisons are easier, though, if they are of a fixed size and fixed quality,The target is cabochon-cut stones, especially carved rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, which are not widely distributed in Japan. It is difficult to obtain such items unless you come to Bangkok,Each stone has a great deal of individuality. The price of a small difference can be as much as 10 times the price of a large fish, so it is very difficult to compare.
↑upEach of the booths lined up in a row is again lined up with a row of jewels.
Stones have a strong energy (although I don't care much about stone power), and looking at them seriously can quickly make me exhausted, but even so, as soon as I come across an attractive stone, I lose myself in selecting it for an hour or so.
↑upMany beautiful loose rubies and sapphires in cabochon cut, which are rare in Japan, are on display!
The first day ended when we had narrowed down the list of candidates.
Returning to the hotel, I regained my strength with my favorite Thai food and an old-fashioned massage.

In the next issue, we will show you some of the actual catches (lol) that we got!
