I went to "Chiharu Shiota Exhibition: My Soul is Shaking".

Hello, this is Shigeta from Adan Staff.

The other day, I visited "Chiharu Shiota Exhibition: Souls in Motion" at the Mori Art Museum.

There were a number of works that were OK to photograph, so I will discuss those as well.

This was the first time I saw an exhibition of Chiharu Shiota's works, and I felt that it was more correct to say that I felt rather than saw the sensation.

The poster, "An Uncertain Journey.

Tens of thousands of folded threads are like living things.

The boat, made of iron, had only a frame line, and it seemed as if a large number of threads were being sucked into it.

I squatted down to see if the boat was pulling the strings and looked at the surface of the installation with the floor, but there was no sense that it was fixed,

The same amount of attraction can be felt.

These red clumps certainly started as a single strand of yarn.

When you get close, you are overwhelmed by the collection of threads calculated down to the density.

A strange sensation as if you were trapped in a cocoon.

This work is located early in the exhibition, but the density increases as it progresses.

Chiharu Shiota's idea of "presence in absence.

At first glance, it is tempting to shake off these words as art and therefore unintelligible to us,

As you go along, key words are presented and the meaning is conveyed in a mysterious way. Really strange.

Where is the soul?

It was a valuable experience that made me think about that question.
