Travelogue of New Caledonia] "Piscine Naturelle," a natural swimming pool on the Ile d'Epargne Island

This is Kubota from Adan Staff.

In this issue of New Caledonia Travelogue, we introduce Piscine Naturelle, a natural swimming pool on the island of Ile d'Epargne, which we have been bringing you since the summer while feeling the footsteps of autumn.

Piscine Naturelle, located about 30 minutes by bus from Kut Beach, where we were staying, has a difficult name, but it is French for "natural swimming pool.

I wasn't sure of the exact pronunciation until the end, but I was able to get the general idea.

After being dropped off by the hotel bus and walking slowly through the woods, the view suddenly opens up.

A river like this? A stream? You should wear clothes that you don't mind getting wet!

Incidentally, the water level was about this level on the way there, but on the way back it was knee-deep, so it would be better not to change clothes too tightly on the way back.

If you walk in the direction that everyone is heading, you will get there, but there were directions on the wayup

Once we crossed the river, we walked through the woods for a bit, which was quite an adventure and fun.

After passing through the woods, we finally arrived!

It takes about 20 minutes, but it's a lot of fun because you are walking through a place that looks like a movie world.

The ocean beyond is a zapping sea, but the waves are calmer in this natural pool because it is blocked by a reef.

The clarity is excellent and it really looks like a swimming pool!

Sorry for the rough image, it's a movie screencap, but can you tell the color of this?

If I were to compare it to a gemstone, hmmm, aquamarine, green beryl, such a pale and beautiful color.

Of course, fish and...

This undulating shell looks like something out of The Little Mermaid or something!

Speaking of shells, pearls are large in size compared to Japanese Akoya pearls, but this sense of scale convinced me that there must be a lot of large shells around Tahiti.

After lots of swimming, we were hungry, so we had sandwiches and beer made at the hotel bar for lunch...

This spectacular view and beer, it's truly the closest island to heaven!

And this manta beer, the packaging is too nice to make you feel like you are on a trip.

It's also sold in supermarkets on the mainland, so it makes a great souvenir... ♪

The enjoyable stay in Ildepan was short-lived, and I returned to Noumea on that night's flight.

The time required was, what, 20 minutes! LOL!

It takes about 15 minutes by cab from the domestic airport to Noumea. (International flights take about 1 hour).

The island of Ildepan is actually very close.
