Yesterday, despite being the first day of spring, it snowed and I was surprised~!
On a cold day, it's all about indoors! So, attracted by the POP flyer, I went to the "Iroe Japan CUTE!
Most of the pieces were from the collection of the Idemitsu Museum of Arts, but the large quantity of pottery was organized into five chapters for this exhibition.
Chapter 1: Celebrating the Seasons, Giving Joy
Chapter 2: Fashion and Literature
Chapter 3 Japan CUTE, Running Around the World
Chapter 4 New Forms, New Colors, New Flowers
Chapter 5: Colorful Tea Party - Colorful Tea Party
The exhibition showed a desire to make the world of pottery, which is difficult for our generation to understand, more accessible and accessible.
The chapters "Fashion and Literature" and "Japan Cute, Running Around the World" were particularly interesting and enjoyable.
There are many Koguya-yaki from the Edo period that adopted the patterns of kimonos that were popular at the time.
It was fun to see it displayed along with clippings from fashion book-like booklets of the time.
In the third chapter, "Running Around the World," visitors can view a comparative exhibition of pottery exported overseas and imitated in various countries as if it were a game of messages.
It is fun to see elements being added and subtracted as one goes from Japan to China to England, just like looking for a mistake.
The exhibition itself was quite strenuous as I had to look closely at the detailed patterns to appreciate them,
It was nice to be able to take a break and have a cup of tea in the free rest area just outside the exhibition hall.
It looks dull, but what can be seen over there is Sakuradamon Gate.
It was a very nice view and I hope to visit again someday when the weather is nice.
