This is Kubota from Adan Staff.
Last month, I took an early summer vacation to Italy!
June in Italy is generally a beautiful month, with no rainy season.
June Bride makes sense too.
This year, since it was already midsummer heat, we enjoyed nature at the beach and in the mountains!
Today we will introduce the sea version, Isola d'Elba Elba, an island in Tuscany.
Have you ever heard of Elba Island?
This small island is located between the Italian peninsula and Corsica,
It is also known as the place where Napoleon was exiled after his abdication.
Napoleon was banished to the island, in essence, "exiled", but during the year or so he was here.
He is still loved by the islanders because of his efforts to revitalize commerce and other efforts to ensure the island's prosperity.
Incidentally, this Elba flag was invented by Napoleon.
It really looks good against the blue sky.
Now, as for how to get to Elba Island, since it is an island, it is mainly reached by sea.
It is possible to get there from various ports, but I went from Piombino, a port in Tuscany.
Everyone gets on the island in their own cars or rented cars, as the island is basically a car trip.
It is a rather large ferry, but the waves were high that day, or perhaps lack of sleep took its toll,
I got seasick...you must take medicine if you are easily intoxicated!
Well, we managed to recover and set off for the hotel along a road overgrown with what appeared to be sugar cane plants!
This is the "Piccolo Hotel Versilia," our lodging this time.

It was a very cozy, small, family-run hotel.
There is also a large beach, Marina di Campo, about a 5-minute walk away!
Even though it is June, everyone is swimming with plenty of time to spare.
The water is still a bit chilly, but it's nice that there are fewer people because it's before a real vacation~!
After swimming and getting hungry, it is time for dinner, which we have been waiting for!
The hotel includes two meals and the food is very delicious with fresh ingredients (^^).
You can choose from 2-3 pasta, main dish, and dessert menus, each of which changes daily.
This day it was paccheri with seafood ragout, a short pasta that looked like a large piece of macaroni.
Seafood with a glass of chilled white wine is the best!
Yes, one of the great pleasures of travel for me is the local wine.
Elba Island is also a source of very good white wine.
Personally, I prefer northern Italy for red wines and southern Italy for white wines,
This fruity dry white wine was just my taste and I was happy~!
The geometric pattern of the etiquetta is a honeycomb pattern after the symbol of Elba Island, the bee.
There are many different producers, but this wine is sold in souvenir shops, so it seems to be a major producer in Elba.
There are so many delicious wines, but unfortunately not many Elba wines are available in Italy,..,
Well, I've talked about food all the time. Next time, I'll introduce you to the spectacular view of Elba Island!
I have been to these places!
